Regime 40: The standard import procedure in France, applicable to companies with a French VAT number and individuals based in France.

Regime 42: Import clearance takes place at the border in France (Calais or Dunkirk), with VAT deferred when goods are subsequently moved to another EU country. This regime is ideal for intra-EU shipments and exports from the UK to EU countries other than France.
